All Grayed out

Following his release from Hillsborough last week experienced former England international Michael Gray has announced his retirement from the professional game.

The Sunderland man joined the Owls on an initial one-month loan deal from Wolves in January 2009 and made enough of an impression to earn a permanent deal at the club.

|Having made his name as a left-back Gray was utilised more often than not in a wide midfield role for the Owls and he did this to good effect for the remainder of the 2008/09 season.

Gray started off 2009/10 in similar form to the way he finished the previous campaign and scored his first Wednesday goal on the opening day of the season against Barnsley at Hillsborough, however the latter half of his campaign was curtailed by niggling injury.

Michael made a total of 44 appearances in the blue and white stripes, scoring two goals. www.owls-mad.co.uk wishes him all the best for the future.
