Allen's new Owls pledge

In the latest of a long-running saga, the Owls chairman has stated that the shares should be given back to the club, which were initially given as a gift to former fans group the Owls Trust 'for the long term benefit of Sheffield Wednesday Football Club.'

Allen wants the shares back so that the club can have 51percent of them back so any future potential investors can put money into Wednesday.

The initial loan was to fund recruiting players in Chris Turner's promotion push and Allen will completely write that off the club's debt IF Wednesdayite want to hand in their shares.

The money for the shares should have been cashed in when Wednesday were promoted to the championship but the chairman left the funds available for Paul Sturrock to spend with no interest being added on.
