Sheffield Wednesday travel to the midlands on Saturday to face Birmingham City in another clash of 2 teams vying for a top 6 place. The Owls impressed in coming back to draw 1-1 with in-form Burnley at Hillsborough on Tuesday evening and the will be looking for a positive result against the Blues.

Carlos Carvalhal has no new injury concerns but must decide on whether to bring the likes of Tom Lees and Marco Matias back into the squad following their return from lay-offs. It is unlikely that too many changes will be made to the side that faced Burnley but on loan Everton winger Aiden McGeady will be hoping for more game time after a fleeting appearance in midweek.

Birmingham are without Neal Eardley due to a knee ligament injury and although former Sheffield United winger David Cotterill has returned to training following a hamstring injury it is unlikely that he will be up to match fitness and is not expected to feature.

City boss Gary Rowett will make a late decision on the availability of forward Jon Toral after he picked up a knee injury in their last game against Bristol City.

Wednesday strolled to a 3-0 home win against Birmingham on Boxing Day but since then the Blues have been in fine form with 4 wins and 2 draws from their last 6 league matches.

The Owls are also enjoying an impressive league run, losing only 1 of their last 6 but lost their last away game at League One side Shrewsbury in the F.A. Cup.

Both teams have 47 points and could move into the play-off places with a win on Saturday.
