Battle to beat the drop-final round of games

Colchester and Scunthorpe have been consigned to the fact that they will be playing League One football next season for some time but the final relegation place will only be decided when the curtain draws on the end of the Championship season on Sunday.

Wednesday sit one point and two places above the final drop-spot and therefore know that a home win against Norwich will see them safe. If the Owls were to lose they would still finish above the relegation zone if Leicester lose or if Southampton fail to win
A draw for the Owls would be good enough if Leicester and Southampton fail to win or if either Coventry or Blackpool are defeated.

Leicester face arguably the toughest fixture of all the teams involved in this battle. The Foxes travel to Stoke who need a point to guarantee their own promotion to the Premier League and a win could see them go up as Champions.

Southampton, who currently occupy the final relegation place, face Sheffield United at home, with the visitors still in with a shout of making the play-offs.

Coventry visit an out-of-sorts Charlton knowing a draw will see them safe. Blackpool also need a point to make sure as they face Watford at home. The Hornets are in poor form of late but they also have a great deal riding on the game as a win would seal a play-off place.

There will doubtless be many twists and turns throughout the 90 minutes in all of these games, lets hope the Owls can get the job done at Hillsborough and make results elsewhere irrelevant.
