The Owls have no new injuries following Saturday's home defeat against Coventry but could welcome back the experience of Steve Watson as well as winger Etienne Esajas.

Wednesday have struggled in front of goal of late and could choose to change things around in attack.

Frank Simek could be pushing for a return in defence Tony McMahon has staked a claim to keep his place while Lewis Buxton may continue at left-back in the absence of Spurr and Gilbert.

The home side will be without long-term injury victim Stephen Crainey along with former Barnsley striker Daniel Nardiello.

Defender Danny Coid and midfielder David Vaughan both face fitness tests while former Sheffield United players Lee Hendrie and Steve Kabba will be hoping they get the chance to add to Wednesdays woes.

Blackpool beat the Owls at Bloomfield Road in a crucial clash towards the end of last season but are struggling for form at the moment. They have lost their last 3 league games and haven't won at home for three games either.

Wednesday have just one away victory this season and have not kept a clean sheet on their travels since March.
