Boss happy after run-out

The Owls manager saw his team's pre-season get a decent start with a 1-1 draw in a game which was stopped for over an hour after a tropical storm hit Carolina

But he was happy with how the players started the game and was encouraged with the performances from his new players.

He told the official site: "We started really well but then the heat took its toll and there were definitely a couple of chances dropped. I'd have been disappointed if it had been abandoned as we need the game - there's no substitution for matches.

"There were good and bad performances and I had a chat with the players after the game. I thought Majid Bougherra did well and Kenny Lunt scored a goal on his debut - you can't ask more than that."
