Chelsea loan star keen to kick on

New Sheffield Wednesday signing Izzy Brown has spoken of his excitement to prove his worth at Sheffield Wednesday and how Wedensday manager Garry Monk has told him that this can be a key season in taking his career to the next level. Brown, who has joined the Owls on a season long loan, also stated that knew Owls coach Andy Hughes played a part in him making the move to Hillsborough as he played under Hughes when the pair were at Huddersfield Town.

The 23-year-old Chelsea midfielder has shown plenty of potential in numerous loan spells but his development has been hampered by injuries in recent seasons. Despite his age, Brown has plenty of Championship experience. He played for Rotherham on loan at this level in the first half of the 2016-17 season and caught the eye of promotion chasing Huddersfield who snapped him up for the second half of that campaign and helped them secure promotion to the Premier League.

A season long loan at Premier League Brighton followed in 2017-18 but after an encouraging first half of the season Brown suffered a cruciate ligament injury in January that ended his campaign. The next season saw him loaned out to Leeds but injury problems prevented him making much of an impression.

Last season was spent at Luton Town where Brown provided an impressive number of assists as the team managed to stay up following promotion from League One the previous season. The midfielder should bring energy, enthusiasm and creativity to the Owls team for the 2020/21 season.
