Bullen ready for action

The 33-year-old Scot was signed from Dunfermline on a free transfer and believes that his never-say-die attitude will make him popular with supporters.

Former favourite Derek Geary was always a feisty character and with the way Bullen speaks, it would come as no surprise that the utility man will become one of the darlings of the kop.

He says: "I will never give less than 110percent whether the team are having a good game, a bad game or an indifferent game, but it’s important the team gels as a unit and we get the ball to the strikers to score lots of goals."

Bullen has been the proverbial footballing globe-trotter after plying his trade in Australia, Hong Kong, China and Greece, but he could have stayed with The Pars if he was not a man of his word.

He added: "I had decided to come here a long time ago so the change of management back up at Dunfermline did not change my mind at all. I wouldn’t go back on my word to anyone and I would expect the same from others."

Despite his honesty off the pitch, Wednesday's first-choice right-back next season knows just how lucky he is to have the chance to play football.

Bullen continued: "I have worked 9-5 before and I know what it is like to have a life away from football and someday that will happen again. I do realise how lucky I have got it thought at the moment as there are 20-odd million people who would love to do what I do for a living."
