Bully on Tigers test - exclusive

The Tigers were promoted two weeks ago but cannot win the championship due to Luton having already sealed league one title glory and the Wednesday skipper is hoping that City do not get complacent.

Wednesday have no new injury worries for the big game although Glenn Whelan should come straight back into the side after serving a suspension while Graeme Lee will not be back until the Bristol City game and David Lucas should make his comeback on the bench.

Following Hull's defeat to Walsall last weekend, Peter Taylor's men looked a shadow of the team who have arguably played the best attacking football all season long and Bullen is hoping that they do not fall over and die - because they may do the same next week against Brentford.

He told Footymad: "They have to play Brentford after us so if they take the foot off the pedal against us then they may do the same against them but I certainly hope that Hull don’t take their foot off the gas in the last two games of the season – we will go up there and hopefully get a victory, play as well as we can do and get some luck in front of goal.

"It’s a massive game, it’s a sell out and it is will be a great occasion for both of the clubs and the two sets of fans. For a player to go to a new stadium with a capacity crowd watching is something that you can only look forward to.

"When they played us (at Hillsborough in December), they were the better team on the day but we made them look better than what they are. We made individual errors which cost goals but Wednesday did not play as well as they can do and have done on that occasion. I don’t know what sort of team what Peter Taylor will put out, he may give a few fringe players a game but whatever team you come across you know that everybody in this league wants to beat Wednesday and I’m sure that he will have his guys fired up for the match."

Looking further ahead, whatever happens at the KC Stadium tomorrow will be vital come the last day of the season when Bristol City come to town for potentially a 'winner takes all' clash and Bullen believes that the Hillsborough crowd can get Wednesday to the play-offs.

"Playing at home on the last day will be important," the Scotsman added." Any advantage we can get will be important and goal difference will also play a part but at the end of the day, if we win our last two games of the season then we are in the play-offs.

"Teams are going to drop points, if we don’t, we’re there and if we do then other teams will have to try and benefit from that. Hartlepool play Bournemouth on the last day so one of those two will drop points but we don’t want to get to the scenario where they perhaps need a point each from that game but now we are in the position where we can dictate what happens.

"But this Saturday will be a marvellous occasion when two big, big clubs lock horns, we have everything to play for and they are now in the comfort zone and hopefully we can gain an advantage from that."
