Burton praises Tudgay strikes - exclusive

Tudgay was brilliant as he got two great goals; both set up by the excellent Burton, as The Owls cruised to their fourth straight home win by beating Rob Kelly's Foxes 2-1.

Jamaican international Burton may not be getting on the scoresheet but his seemingly telepathic with Tudgay is getting his strike partner, and Wednesday both goals and victories.

He told Footymad: “It was a good team performance and we got another three points, it's lovely as well to see Marcus scoring, it's good for the team. Our partnership is looking good at the moment and long may it continue.”

With all fingers pointing towards Brian Laws who is tipped to be Paul Sturrock's successor this week, the players have remained focused on playing and Burton is already looking forward to next week's long trip south east to Ipswich.

He added: “We have been doing really well recently and putting everything behind the scenes towards the back of our minds – we just have to get on with our job and keep performing.

“Every game is tough as will be the Ipswich game. Leicester has just gone a few games unbeaten but they came here, we dominated and could have scored more but we are in form at the moment so we can go and get something down there.”
