The popular right-back has had a mixed season by his impressive standards but boss Chris Turner believes that there is only one thing hampering his progress – his poor disciplinary record.
In his 103 starts for The Owls, Geary has picked up a massive 35 cautions and 2 dismissals, with 12 of his yellow cards coming this season alone.
Despite him being a firm fans favourite, the Irishman’s contract will expire in the summer and poor conduct on the pitch may force Turner to offload the former Cherry Orchard product.
Turner though has admitted that he is a better player now than the raw talent he was a few years ago, and encourages him to get forward as often as possible, but still remains frustrated with his temperament.
