Charlton stand in the way of steel city clash

Sheffield Wednesday will face a trip to League One side Sheffield United in the Quarter Finals of the F.A. Cup if they can overcome Charlton in their postponed 5th round tie.

The wet weather on Saturday meant that the Owls and Charlton will have to wait to get their tie played but both now have a great incentive to progress to the last 8 with the winners only one game away from a Wembley semi-final.

Should Wednesday get past the Londoners it will be a great boost for Sheffield football – the Brammal Lane tie is certain to be a sell out and would guarantee one club from the steel city going on to play at Wembley with the chance of making the final.

The Blades came from behind to beat Nottingham Forest in their 5th round tie and they have also seen off Aston Villa and Fulham in this seasons competition, a great achievement made all the more surprising given their inability to pull away from the lower reaches of the third division.
