City centre outlet nears closure

Following news that the Co-Operative Group was set to shut down the majority of its non-food store operations, owls-mad.co.uk reported in January that as a result of this, the Owls could soon be without an official city centre store.

This has now been confirmed and the City Owls outlet that is currently housed inside the Castle House department store will close for good on Saturday 29th March.

Owl's fans, who have also seen the closure of the Wednesday Gear store in Orchard Square in recent times, will now only have the option of shopping via the official online store or at the revamped superstore at Hillsborough stadium for most official merchandise products.

The city centre shops were a convenient option for people living closer to town than Hillsborough and also for people working in the city centre with a good variety of official merchandise available and for some time it was also possible to purchase match tickets at these sites.
