Corr on standby after Proudy knock

Proudlock jarred his ankle while playing for the reserves against Rotherham last night and now faces a race against time to be fit for the game at the Walkers Staduim on Saturday.

The former Wolves striker was in line for a start following his impressive performances of late but now only has a 50/50 chance of making the game in the East Midlands.

But Corr, who joined towards the end of last season from Leeds, completed 90 minutes against The Millers' second string and looked impressive.

If Paul Sturrock fails in his attempts to lure a loan striker before the weekend, Corr may be given his first start in Wednesday colours.

Lee Bullen also made his first appearance of the season last night in the 1-1 draw at Hillsborough and came through the match with no problems following his lay off with an Achillies injury.
