Old boy could become an Owls new boy in January

With the winter transfer window set to open next week Sheffield Wednesday have been linked with a surprise move for former player Sam Hutchinson.

Hutchinson spent six years at Hillsborough before departing at the end of his contract earlier this year. His time at the club came to a disappointing end as he played his last game for Wednesday in January when he was frozen out of first team plans by the then manager, Garry Monk.

The former Chelsea player signed for Pafos in Cyprus in September but on Boxing Day, Pafos confirmed that his contract had been terminated by mutual agreement. New Owls manager Tony Pulis has recently spoken about the qualities that Hutchinson previously brought to the team but refused to be drawn on the possibility of his return when questioned following the 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers.
