Defender begins comeback trail

Sheffield Wednesday defender Richard Hinds marked his comeback from a lengthy injury lay-off by starting for the reserves on Tuesday afternoon.

Hinds played for 45 minutes of the match against Walsall that was switched from Stocksbridge to Hillsborough due to the freezing conditions.

The utility man broke his leg in the defeat at Wolves in what was only the second league game of the season and although he is likely to be some way off a return to first team action it is certainly a major positive step on the road to recovery.

Other than the inclusion of Hinds, the Owls fielded a very youthful side for the reserve match which ended in a 1-1 draw with young hopeful Nathan Modest on target for Wednesday.
