The former Leicester City left-back was injured in February and has been out since with a knee ligament injury.

But he has been quietly getting back to fitness and helped Wednesday to a comfortable victory at Hillsborough in his first game back with The Owls' goals coming from exciting youngsters Rocky Lekaj, Sean McAllister before Burton O'Brien and Steve MacLean (2) completed the hammering.

Gilbert was taken off before the end of the game but he will be looking towards the Cardiff game to hopefully return.

Meanwhile, Dave Allen and Ken Cooke have been re-elected in as directors of the club following the AGM which was held on Monday night although other resolutions which included quarterly meetings with supporter's group Wednesdayite, fans representation on the board and the accepting of donations from Wednesdayite were all rejected.

Meanwhile, PlusNet's sponsorship has also been extended on improved terms so now the Sheffield-based internet service provider will continue to back the club until May 2009.
