Duo eye derby victory - exclusive

Dennis Wise's men are routed to the bottom of the table and even a victory against Wednesday tomorrow will not be good enough to get them out of the bottom three.

But Wednesday are hoping that their last-gasp victory against Southend last weekend will leave them with good belief to get back into the form which saw Brian Laws' troops push for a play-off place.

Simek told Footymad: "It was a good win on Saturday for us to take up to Leeds and it boosts our confidence because we have been struggling to say the least but hopefully we can go there to keep Leeds struggling.

"We had a great run earlier in the season and we were nearly in the play-offs but our recent run has seen our league place drop and we didn't want to end up in the relegation zone because it's been a long couple of months for us so hopefully onwards and upwards from here."

Tudgay meanwhile is surprised to see Wednesday's fierce Yorkshire rivals propping up the league but he is taking nothing away from the challenge which faces Wednesday.

He said: "At the end of the day Leeds are a big club and it's a surprise to see them where they are in the table but they have got some good players, we were in a similar situation last season where we were struggling and things were not going our way so they have to dig in, keep their heads high and they will get out of trouble.

"We are all looking forward to Leeds. It's not an easy place to go and it could be a scrappy game with tackles flying in everywhere, but the boys know what they have to do, we'll all give 110percent because we want those three points."

The only major change for tomorrow should be the omission of Graham Coughlan who is back home in Ireland due to his brother's untimely death earlier in the week - young Shane Coughlan passed away after drowning in a Dublin cannel and everyone connected with Sheffield Wednesday will no doubt send their best wishes to Graham and his family.
