Grant confirmed as 'number 1'

Grant, signed from Derby and former Spurs stopper Burch will battle it out to be the top choice although Grant gets the number all goalkeepers want by having number 1 on his back - Burch meanwhile gets 27.

New utility man Richard Hinds gets number 5, vacated by Graham Coughlan who was released last week.

There's no other change from last season's 1-11 though apart from the number 9 being vacated - hopefully meaning Brian Laws will jump into the transfer market to sign a striker soon.

Other movers are Rocky Lekaj, who gets Steve Adams' old number 12, Sean McAllister will be the new 14 replacing John Hills while Steve Watson keeps his old 17 shirt.

Wednesday's number 15 shirt, which has been worn by some of the most unlucky players in Hillsborough history injury wise, has been vacated by Wade Small, who missed most of last season on the sidelines with young defender Mark Beevers taking it up - Small moves to 26.
