Defender joins Owls

Sheffield Wednesday's loan transfer deadline day ended with the arrival of Michael Hector joining on a season-long loan from Premier League giants Chelsea.

The centre-back joined Chelsea from Reading in the summer of 2015 and was loaned back to the Royals for the 2015-16 season. Since then he has spent a season in Germany with Eintracht Frankfurt and was a regular in the Championship last when on loan at Hull City.

Hector will provide a much-needed defensive option for the Owls, who lost defenders Glenn Loovens and Frederico Venancio following the expiry of their contracts at the end of last season.

The 26-year-old was
Wednesday's second loan signing on deadline day with Spurs midfielder Josh Onomah having signed earlier in the day.
