Hume interest ends

Rovers had accepted a £500,000 bid from The Owls for their star man but chief executive Kavan Walker could not agree terms with Hume's representative.

Now it looks as if Paul Sturrock will be chasing the signature of another striker before the end of the transfer window, and with a cool half a million to spend so it seems, obviously many players will get linked in the next few days.

Wednesday have also halted their interest in Rangers defender Maurice Ross after his wage demands were too high.

The club though have announced today that Hillsborough will be hosting a vital England U-21 World Cup qualifier against Poland.

The match will kick off at 8pm on Tuesday 11 October but no ticket details have been released as of yet.
