Sheffield Wednesday travel to 3rd-placed Reading on Saturday but Carlos Carvalhal may have to dig deep into his squad due to injury and suspension problems.

The Owls are definitely without in-form forward Fernando Forestieri as he begins a 3-match ban following his dismissal against Preston last weekend.

Fellow forward Steven Fletcher is also a doubt due to a knee injury but Lucas Joao should be fit despite limping off last time out. Atdhe Nuhiu could also feature after a hat-trick in a midweek reserve game and midfielder Almen Abdi could also return to the fold after featuring positively in that game.

Defender Glenn Loovens and midfielders Ross Wallace, Will Buckley and Kieran Lee are all injury doubts.

Reading welcome back defender Liam Moore after he missed the drubbing at Fulham last weekend due to suspension. However, midfielder Danny Williams will miss out as he serves a ban for his red card in the 5-0 defeat. Former Sheffield United midfielder Stephen Quinn misses out due to a knee injury.

Wednesday have returned to form in recent games having picked up 7 points from their last 3 games. Despite their heavy defeat last time out Reading remain 3rd in the table having won their previous 5 games, conceding only 1 goal in the process. The Royals have only lost once on home soil this season.

The two sides played out two 1-1 draws last season.
