When The Owls have come face to face with relegation-threatened teams in the last few months, Turner’s side have usually come out of those encounters second best although a much-changed team got a point this time.

Paul McLaren, Richard Wood, Kim Olsen and Adam Chambers returned to the starting line up while Alan Quinn was back after five games out with suspension, although got sent off late on.

Turner said afterwards: “It was a game we have been loosing of late just like we did at Chesterfield, Stockport and Grimbsy, when the opposition have been battling for something, we usually tend to get outfought but against County we made changes and they did reasonably well, we just had problems with the final cross or final pass at times.”

Again youngster Brunt was the most impressive performer and his recent showings have got Turner ready to offer him a new deal sooner rather than later.

He added: “I felt that Chris Brunt was the star in the team and caused them problems, I will be speaking to Chris and his agent shortly in regards to a deal to keep him at Hillsborough for the next couple of seasons.”
