Jones on Owls future - exclusive

The Trinidad and Tobago striker has become an instant hit in S6 by scoring a remarkable six goals in five games, one of the best scoring streaks since Paul Warhurst in 1993!

Every single Owls fan wants to see the youngster sign a permanent deal at Wednesday but with James Beattie signing for Everton, a Premiership spot on the south coast may open up for him.

On his future, he said: “It all depends on what goes on, I can’t really say much as it is for others to say. If I go back to
Southampton it is in the hands of the manager.

“Over here in
Sheffield I am just doing what I have been asked to do and hopefully that will catch his eye. I am not to sure of what will happen in the future but hopefully all things will go well.

“When you are playing in front of big crowds and with a team who are looking for promotion, it is always a bigger driving force than playing in the reserves and it gives you more of an adrenaline rush to come out and perform.”

Talking about his own form, which has dazzled Wednesdayites young and old since his arrival before the
Doncaster game, the beaming Jones has been taken aback by it all.

He says: “It was my aim when I first arrived to score in every game I played in, whether that happened or not was to be seen but I am ahead of my expectations at the moment, I’m very happy.

“I have continued the form since I have arrived at the club and it is pretty good to be on a role right now. As any striker will tell you, scoring in every game is what you want to do and hopefully Wednesday continue their good form and I continue my form too.

“There is a few things what I can do better you know? But the more games I play and the more times I train hard, I will get better as an overall player."
