Grant thought was released by County yesterday and will be eligible for a free-transfer move to Hillsborough.

The Owls manager has kept tabs on the former England U-21 goalkeeper, who played over 70 times for The Rams' first team.

But according to reports, Laws is wanting to bring in two quality keepers this summer to give the club some competition between the sticks.

Chris Adamson was surplus to requirements and was duly released but Laws has made it clear that a goalkeeper is top of his list after Wednesday had to rely on loan stoppers Nicky Weaver, Scott Carson, Mark Crossley, Brad Jones and Iain Turner in the last few seasons.

In other news, Chris Brunt has been linked with a move to Wigan while Scunthorpe's utility player Richard Hinds is tipped to move to Hillsborough.
