Long trip on opening day

The Owls make the 340-mile round trip to Portman Road on August 11 to lock horns with former Wednesday midfielder Jim Magiltion's Town - bringing back happy memories for Brian Laws who faced the Tractor Boys in his first game as SWFC boss last November.

Wednesday will then play Rotherham United on August 16 - the tasty League Cup tie is set to be shown live on Sky, before facing Wolves at Hillsborough on August 18.

A tricky looking December sees Laws' men take on Watford at Hillsborough followed by a trip to Burnley on Boxing day, Hull away three days later and then Preston at home on New Year's day.

But fans who are looking forward to facing United will have to wait - Wednesday play them at Hillsborough on January 19 with the return game coming at Bramall Lane only 29 days later.

The club end their season with away trips to Blackpool and Leicester before taking on Norwich at Hillsborough in the season finale for the second time in successive seasons.
