Lucas injury latest

The former Preston goalkeeper went down after Clive Platt's opening goal and was carried off the pitch - subsequently he will now miss at least two weeks.

Ola Tidman came in for Lucas and did reasonably well despite a few nervy moments, looked reasonably confident between the sticks.

Lee Bullen's second goal of the season rescued Wednesday with a late header although Steve MacLean and Chris Marsden both had great chances to win the game.

But with Graeme Lee coming off the bench in the last two games and Guy Branston returning to full fitness, this news should at least appease Paul Sturrock somewhat.

Sunday's goal hero Adam Proudlock missed the clash due to a calf injury and the extent of his problem is not yet known although he was replaced in the starting line-up by Glenn Whelan.

Sturrock will now go into the loan market to try to get a new left-back following Paul Smith's injury and possibly a new goalkeeper.
