Many Owls fans thought that the meeting with Southampton on Saturday 13 August would have been pencilled in for Sky coverage, with Paul Sturrock facing his old club nearly a year to the day after being sacked by Saints.
Luton left league one as champions although both encounters between The Hatters and Owls were too close to call last season, with both games ending in draws.
Wednesday's other match for Sky is the away game at QPR.
