McAuley pleased again

A goal in first-half stoppage time by Marcus Tudgay made it 1-1 after Shefki Kuqi opened the scoring but Wednesday bounced back from Tom Soares' marker with a Graham Coughlan equaliser and Steve MacLean's first goal in open play since the win at Chesterfield on February 19th gave The Owls all three points.

Acting manager McAuley said: "When I got handed this job I talked about the players and having the right mentality. I wanted them to be free and to concentrate on the performance above anything else. That has helped that we have managed to focus solely on the performance. We have got a bit more belief and obviously the results have helped with that."

But with a managerial appointment not likely to happen this week, McAuley is hoping to take charge of the team again this weekend.

"It's enjoyable because we are getting results, I think I will be involved again on Saturday for the Leicester game."

Coughlan though could be out for a few weeks though after hurting his hamstring.
