Manager gives update on injured players

Garry Monk gave Wednesday fans an update on the rehabilitation of the injured players in his squad on Thursday and the news was mixed.

The most positive aspect was the surprise news that Steven Fletcher has returned to full training and could be in the squad for the weekend game at Birmingham City. Even if he doesn't make Saturday's game the fact that he is on the verge of a return is a huge bonus.

Other good news came in the form of full-back Morgan Fox. The left-sided defender limped out of the defeat at Wigan Athletic a couple of weeks ago but has now returned to training and could also be involved this weekend. Fox has been much improved this season and has been missed during his absence.

On the other side of the coin, midfielders Massimo Luongo and Adam reach are not yet ready to return. Luongo has not been seen since being sent of during the home defeat to Blackburn. The Owls got the suspension for that red card overturned on appeal but the Australian picked up an injury in training. Reach has a toe injury that has seen him miss three games. Full back Moses Odubajo also remains ruled out due to a hamstring injury.
