Sheffield Wednesday's takeover was officially completed at a Hillsborough press conference on Monday and new Chairman Dejphon Chansiri outlined his aim of securing a place in the Premier League in the near future.

The Owls, formed in 1867, will celebrate their 150th anniversary in two years time and Chansiri is targeting a Premier League return to coincide with the celebrations.

Although details of the levels of funding to be expected in the near future have not been disclosed Mr. Chansiri has stated that the Owls will deal smart in respect of their financial approach and he will do everything in his power to bring success to the club. Having spent £37.5M to purchase the club from Milan Mandaric and cover outstanding debts the Thai businessman will need to fund the Owls towards a return to the Premier League where the riches of the tv deals will bring him a return on his investment.
