Wednesday inactive as window shuts

Monday 5th October saw the prolonged summer transfer window close at 11pm in England and for Sheffield Wednesday it was a quiet day. The Owls have brough in 7 players during this window but there are still areas of the squad that need to be strengthened.

Wednesday brought in Calum Paterson last week to add to their attacking options but they still only have Jordan Rhodes as a recognised experienced natural striker in the first team. The Owls have been showing an interest in West Brom forward Kenneth Zahore but nothing materialised on deadline day. Wolves defender Dion Sanderson has also been linked with a move to Hillsborough but nothing conclusive developed.

However, although the window closed there is still time for deals to been done. A domestic extension to the summer transfer window is open until 5pm on Friday 16th October, allowing Premier League teams to trade with EFL clubs and so Garry Monk could still make a move.
