Last season The Owls opened up on the road at Stoke and after the game at Deepdale, Wednesday play Luton Town (Tuesday August 9) and then Burnley at home (Saturday August 12).
Local rivals Leeds come to Hillsborough on Saturday August 26 while Paul Sturrock's former club Southampton come north two days before Christmas.
Wednesday take the trip to Stoke on Boxing day and end the year with the even shorter visit to newly-promoted Barnsley.
The Owls finish their season with a tricky-looking visit to Birmingham City on Saturday April 28 and then a home game against Norwich City the following weekend.
