Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley may be competing in different divisions next season but that is not going to stop the two clubs from facing each other.
The short journey over the north Sheffield border has always been a popular one for Wednesday fans and despite their relegation to League One they will still get the opportunity to make the trip as the two clubs will clash in a pre-season friendly.
Barnsley will entertain Wednesday on Tuesday 27th July as the Owls will be stepping up their preparations before their campaign to make a swift return to the Championship kicks off in August.
