Sheffield Wednesday travel across the Pennines on Saturday as they bid to extend their unbeaten run and maintain their challenge at the top of League One.

After progressing to the 3rd round of the F.A. Cup last weekend manager Gary Megson will be able to welcome back some of his loan players that were ineligible to play in the victory against Aldershot.

Miguel Llera, Stephen Bywater, Ben Marshall and Sanchez Watt will all be available as is Danny Batth, who has served a suspension. With James Tavernier, on loan from Newcastle, currently occupying the right-back slot one of these six players will have to miss out as only 5 loan players can be selected in a match-day squad.

The Owls will be without injured midfielder James O’Connor as well as striker Gary Madine and defender Lewis Buxton.

Oldham will make two changes to the squad that beat Bradford City in the Football League Trophy in midweek.

Defender Nathan Clarke and midfielder James Wesolowski both picked up bookings in that game and will now serve one-match suspensions. The duo will be replaced by defender Zander Diamond who makes a return from injury and midfielder Dean Furman who served his own suspension in midweek.

Former Owls striker Shefki Kuqi has been in fine form for the Latics this season and is expected to lead the line for the home side against his former club.

Wednesday go into the game in 2nd place in the table having not lost in the last 6 games, suffering only 1 defeat in their last 13 matches in all competitions.

Oldham are also unbeaten in 6 matches and they currently occupy a mid-table position in League One.

The Owls won on their last visit to Boundary Park, picking up a 3-2 victory last season. Wednesday have only lost 1 of the last 12 matches between the sides but have only won 5 times in 24 visits to Oldham.
