Owls boss to stay

Sturrock, who has spent time as a player, coach and manger at Tannadice claims United are ‘his club’ but wants to finish the job at Hillsborough.

Ian McCall, current manager of Dundee United, is under fire following a 7-1 drubbing in the league cup semi-final to Rangers and because of the club’s lowly position in the SPL.

But Sturrock says that he will want to go back to the club he loves – but not just quite yet!

He said after yesterday’s 0-0 draw at Barnsley: "I think the speculation is disrespectful. You have got to remember there is a manger already in place.

"I've only been here five months and I don't expect to be leaving very, very soon. I can appreciate the rumours, because I've emphasised my thoughts and ambitions to go back to Dundee United in my career, but I can assure you the timescale is not the right one.”
