Match moved to accommodate royal funeral
Sheffield Wednesday’s home clash with Bristol City this coming Saturday has been brought forward by two and a half hours.
In line with EFL guidance, the match has been moved due to the funeral of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip, which will take place at St George’s Chapel Windsor at 3pm on Saturday following his sad passing last Friday.
EFL clubs who were originally scheduled to kick-off at 3pm were given the option of moving their matches to a different day or staging the kick off at 5.30pm or 12.30pm on Saturday and the Owls have confirmed that they have decided upon the 12.30 option.
Wednesday, who face Swansea City at Hillsborough at 6pm on Tuesday, are currently 7 points adrift of Championship safety with just 6 games remaining.
