Away game first up for Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday’s 2020/21 league season starts with a trip to Cardiff City on Saturday 12th September and their first home game of the league season is on Saturday 19th September against Watford.

The opening fixtures, against a top six side from last season followed by a team relegated from the Premier League represents a tough start for the Owls. Although the club have appealed their deduction in relation to P&S rules, that appeal is not expected to be heard until at least October on so Garry Monk will be keen to see his side get off to a good start as they look to claw back some of the minus 12 points they will kick off the season with.

Wednesday will be away to Blackburn Rovers on Boxing Day, host Derby County on January 2nd and the season finishes in May with Nottingham Forest the last visitors of the campaign to Hillsborough before the season ends with a trip to Derby.
