Sheffield Wednesday will have a free weekend in February thanks to the progress of West Bromwich Albion in the F.A. Cup.

The Owls were due to travel to the Hawthorns on Saturday 13th February in the Coca Cola Championship but the Baggies comprehensive 4th round cup win over Newcastle on Saturday means they now face a 5th round clash with Reading that weekend. Wednesday’s trip to the promotion chasers will now take place on Tuesday 9th March.

Despite this postponement Wednesday still have a busy schedule ahead of them next month with 5 matches taking place in 3 weeks between the 6th and 27th of February.

In other fixture news any Owls fans still considering whether to make the short trip to Scunthorpe on Wednesday evening are likely to be left disappointed as Wednesday have sold out their allocation. Alan Irvine’s side will be backed by over 2,000 travelling supporters as the team look to build on their run of three wins in succession under the new boss.
