Managerial turmoil put to one side at Sixfields

Sheffield Wednesday's preparations for the 2019-20 season have taken a big blow with the Steve Bruce saga but it doesn't seem to be affecting the players preparations too much.

The Owls continued their good pre-season form at Northampton Town on Tuesday evening, coasting to a 4-0 victory. With owner Dejphon Chansiri in the stands Lee Bullen took charge of the team and saw his side take the lead early on when Adam Reach latched onto a pass from Forestieri to score. Steven Fletcher doubled the lead from the penalty spot and the visitors then made wholesale changes at the break.

Atdhe Nuhiu partnered Jordan Rhodes in attack in the second half and the pair both got on the score sheet, Nuhiu assisted by Joao and Bannan setting up Rhodes late on.

Wednesday are yet to comment officially on the managerial situation and are not thought to be planning to make any formal announcements at Northampton following the game.
