Owls draw Southport away in F.A. Cup

Sheffield Wednesday have been handed a potential banana skin in the draw for the first round of the E.ON sponsored F.A. Cup.

The Owls will travel to Blue Square Premier League outfit Southport during the weekend commencing 6th November. After winning the Blue Square North title last season the Merseyside outfit currently sit between mid-table and the relegation zone in the division below the league football ladder, they enjoyed a 2-1 win at Wrexham to reach the first round proper. 

Southport, nicknamed the Sandgrounders, play their home games at Haig Avenue, a ground with a capacity of 6,008, the majority of which is standing.
