The draw for the first round of the Capital One Cup took place today with Sheffield Wednesday one of the seeded clubs in the northern section of the draw.
The Owls have been drawn to play at home against League Two side MansfieldTown. The Stags struggled in 2014/15, finishing in 21st place in the 4th tier though they were comfortably clear of the relegation zone points-wise.
The two sides have not met since 1991 when Wednesday ran out 2-0 winners in an F.A. Cup tie at Field Mill.
The League Cup clash will take place at Hillsborough during the week commencing 10th August.
Other local ties in the first round draw include Doncaster Vs Leeds United, Rotherham Vs Cambridge United, Morecambe Vs Sheffield United and Scunthorpe United Vs Barnsley.
