Owls face tough Tigers TV test

Sheffield Wednesday make a short trip east to Hull City on Saturday evening to face the high-flying Tigers in front of the Sky TV cameras in a tea time kick-off.

Dave Jones’ side travel on the back of two disappointing home performances – the drab draw with MK Dons in the F.A. Cup last weekend and a 2-0 defeat against Burnley on New Years Day.

Wednesday will welcome on loan Manchester City winger Jeremy Helan back into the side following a 1-match suspension and tough tackling left-back Reda Johnson is also expected to return to the side.

Midfielder David Prutton will miss out as he starts a two-match ban and the likes of Gary Madine and Chris O’Grady could be pushing for a recall upfront for the goal-shy Owls.

Hull have no new injury concerns and rested a number of players last weekend including influential midfielder Robert Koren and top scorer Sone Aluko. Former Sheffield United midfielder Stephen Quinn is likely to line up against the Owls.

Before the 2 recent poor home performances Wednesday had gone 4 games unbeaten and they have not lost any of their last 3 away games. They also went very close to picking up a result at league leaders Cardiff City last month.

Hull have not lost any of their last 9 games and have moved up to 2nd place in the Championship. They have lost 3 times at home this season, including a 3-1 defeat against lowly Peterborough.

Aaron Mclean scored a late winner for the Tigers in a 1-0 victory when the two sides met at Hillsborough earlier this season.

The Owls have lost on their last 3 visits to the KC Stadium.
