Key dates may be determined by Blades games
The EFL fixtures for 2019-20 are not released until Thursday 20th June but with the Premier League fixtures now out, Wednesday fans have today been assessing where the Owls are likely to be on key dates.
Although they will not know who their opponents will be until next week, it is fairly safe to assume that the Owls and the Blades wont be at home on the same dates. As Sheffield United are away on the opening weekend of the Premier League season, Wednesday are likely to be at home that weekend but with the Championship kicking off a week earlier, it is unlikely that the Owls will be at home for the first two weekends of the season and are therefore expecting to kick-off their league campaign with an away game on the weekend of Saturday 3rd August.
United are at home on Boxing Day and away on News Years day so Wednesday should reverse those fixtures and so Steve Bruce's Owls are set to be away on 26th December and at home on January 1st.
