Sheffield Wednesday have a weekend off from Championship action thanks to Millwall’s continued involvement in the F.A. Cup. The Owls were set to travel to The Den this Saturday but the clash has been postponed until Tuesday 9th April with the Lions now facing Luton in the 5th round of the cup this weekend.

There are still a number of games that do go ahead in the Championship however and Wednesday fans will have one eye on how the teams that are close to the Owls in the league table fair.

Charlton, 4 points ahead of the Owls, face a tough trip to Hull City and Birmingham, who currently have 2 points more than Wednesday, host promotion chasing Watford.

Bolton have one point more than Dave Jones’ side and they travel to out of form Nottingham Forest on Saturday. Ipswich can climb above the Owls if they can overcome Blackpool at Portman Road and Wolves can do the same if they can pick up a victory at Derby County.

Bristol City are currently 23rd in the Championship table, 5 points adrift of the Owls and they face the toughest test of the struggling teams this weekend with a trip to table topping Cardiff City.

Wednesday return to action on Tuesday when the travel to St Andrews to face Birmingham City before playing Crystal Palace at Hillsborough next Saturday.
