Ice cold conditions see Swans clash postponed
Sheffield Wednesday have announced this afternoon that tomorrow’s scheduled Championship home fixture against Swansea City has been postponed.
Sheffield has been subjected to sub-zero temperatures for a few days now and with no expectation of the mercury rising above freezing until Sunday, a pitch inspection was conducted on Friday and the surface was deemed unplayable.
The fixture will be rearranged in due course, but the news does come as something of a surprise given that Hillsborough had undersoil heating installed many years ago in order to prevent postponements due to a frozen pitch.
