The 25-year-old has previously worked at Wrexham before going north of the border to work for the Scottish champions.

Owen is hoping to implement new ideas and wants to reduce the number of injuries that Wednesday have got in the past.

He will make his first 'match' appearance against Reading this week and will help during the warm up but his major work will start in the close season.

So far this season, Wednesday have had serious and lengthy injuries to David Lucas, Lee Bullen, Graham Coughlan, JP McGovern, Steve MacLean, John Hills, Steve Adams, Richard Wood, Drissa Diallo, Drew Talbot and Peter Gilbert.
