Young Sheffield Wednesday prospect George Hirst was on target for the England under-17 side on Thursday, helping to fire the young national team into the knock-out stage of the European Championships in Azerbaijan.
George, the son of Owls goal scoring legend David, took to the pitch as a substitute with around 20 minutes to go with the score at 2-1 against Denmark and within moments he went through on goal and produced an assured finish to wrap up the 3 points and set up a quarter-final tie with Spain on Sunday.
