Owls injuries not thought to be serious

Key pair could be in contention on Saturday

Sheffield Wednesday were dealt a double injury blow last week when Massimo Luongo picked up a knock in the midweek win against Stoke and then Julian Borner was injured in the warm-up before Saturday's draw against Leeds United.

Wednesday performed well in their absence and were a little unlucky to have to settle for a point against their Yorkshire rivals but the club will be keen to have these players available and the suggestion is that Garry Monk won't have to wait too long.

Central defender Borner slipped on the wet turf on Saturday and injured an ankle but has since intimated that he could be in contention to face Blackburn Rovers this weekend and if not he should be fit for the home game against Swansea the following Saturday.  The German stopper has formed a good partnership with Dominic Iorfa at the heart of the back four in the absence Tom Lees.

Luongo was thought to be close to be able to face Leeds and so could also be in line to return at Ewood Park. The former QPR midfielder has had to be patient since moving to Hillsborough this summer but has impressed of late, scoring crucial goals in the victories against Wigan and Stoke.
