Wanderers Vs Wednesday: Team news & preview

Sheffield Wednesday travel to Bolton Wanderers on Saturday as the Championship action resumes. The home side are bottom of the league and anything less than 3 points would be disappointing for a Wednesday side that are already playing catch up in terms of chasing a promotion place. The Owls last away game was a disappointing 1-0 defeat at struggling Birmingham who had previously not won a league game since the 2nd game of the season and have a poor defensive record.

Carlos Carvalhal will make a late call on the inclusion of Eire goalkeeper Keiren Westwood who had missed the last 2 games with a rib injury. Fernando Forestieri and Georg Boyd remain long-term absentees but the likes of Sam Hutchinson, Glenn Loovens and Almen Abdi have all returned to full training during the international break and are in contention.

Filipe Morais will return to the Bolton squad after serving a suspension and Josh Vela could return from injury to be involved for the first time since the opening day of the season. Ex-Owls Mark Beevers and Gary Madine are likely to line up against their former club and experienced midfielder Karl Henry is expected to make his home debut.

The Owls have won 1 lost 2 and drawn 2 from 5 away games so far this season while Bolton are yet to win in the Championship this season and have lost 9 of their opening 11 matches.
